Felicia McLean has 26 years of experience in nursing, having qualified as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1997. She continued her career at the Cayman Islands Hospital until she began her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Barry University, graduating in 2003.
Felicia was the Director of Operations and Nursing at Jasmine (a hospice and palliative care facility) and recently left to join the Ministry of Health and Wellness as the Chief Nursing Officer, the first position of its kind. Passionate about nursing excellence, she is eager to lead initiatives to enhance professional development within the nursing profession and to ensure the highest standards of patient care in the Cayman Islands.
Felicia has been awarded the National Heroes Day Emerging Pioneer Award in Health Services (2015) and was awarded a Certificate and Badge of Honour for her work with palliative care in the Cayman Islands by “HRH the Prince of Wales, now King Charles III” (2019). She has served on numerous national committees and boards to advance healthcare policies. She played a critical role on the committee that led to the implementation of the Health Care Decisions Act (2019). Felicia firmly believes that public service is essential to the future success of the Cayman Islands and is dedicated to advancing health services across the island.
